Senior Software Engineer at Hydryx

About Hydryx

At Hydryx, we’re revolutionizing landfill gas management to cut methane emissions—one of the biggest yet most overlooked contributors to climate change. Founded in 2023, we develop innovative solutions to capture and repurpose methane, turning emissions into resources. With technology that supports both landfill operators and the environment, we aim to make a real impact. We need passionate, hands-on engineers ready to help us shape a sustainable future.

By leveraging data science, cloud computing, and edge IoT devices, we turn landfill emissions into a valuable resource. With our market-leading technology and strong partnerships with industry leaders, we're scaling fast—and we need a Senior Software Engineer to help us build the backbone of our system.

Your Role

As our Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a key player in shaping Hydryx’s Landfill Management Platform. Your work will integrate IoT sensors, optimize gas extraction, and enhance predictive analytics—all in an effort to turn waste into green energy.

You will lead the development of a highly scalable, event-driven cloud platform that enables real-time data processing and intelligent automation for landfills worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain our cloud infrastructure in AWS
  • Integrate and manage IoT sensor data, ensuring real-time monitoring of methane emissions and gas quality
  • Develop APIs for seamless integration with external energy platforms
  • Optimize gas extraction algorithms by leveraging machine learning and edge computing
  • Ensure high security, reliability, and performance in a distributed, cloud-native environment
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to fine-tune the interaction between landfill sensors and software
  • Lead technical decision-making, shaping the architecture of a scalable, long-term solution
  • Mentor and support junior developers as we expand our engineering team
